Teams receive a map, clues, inventory list and a set amount of time to search out and retrieve the necessary components that will enable them to build an ocean-going, seaworthy vessel capable of sailing to victory.

This is a challenge that requires skill, planning and a little bit of luck but is guaranteed to be full of fun and adventure. Hidden throughout a resort (or a chosen location to hold the event) is vital equipment such as wood, bamboo, PVC piping, rope, barrels and some unknowns necessary to Construct It!

What happens during the Construct-It team building activity?

Using a map and clues teams must work together and retrieve all the items, but they don’t have all day, the stopwatch is ticking. After each team has retrieved some or all of the basic items needed to construct their vessels, teams will then have the opportunity to battle it out in a number of challenges and earn additional equipment or if they were too slow in retrieving their basic items they may now need to win these challenges in order to procure the necessary items to create a seaworthy vessel. This is where the effort will be rewarded.

Once the battles have been fought and won, each team must then use the supplies they have and work together to build their own raft. Speed, safety and seaworthiness are key - the raft must be strong enough to carry two team members and the pride of the team to victory. Once the rafts have been constructed the teams must pick a crew and approach the starting line where it will become apparent that team cooperation is the major strategy.

Teams must now paddle for line honours, with their team-mates shouting encouragement. The race is always a source of plenty of laughs and gives teams a chance to develop team spirit as they barrack for the crew of their raft. The first team to reach the finish line are the champions and will be rewarded with a championship cup and medallion.
