Charity - Bikes for Tykes

This Charity Team Building Activity will see your colleagues compete in teams to complete a series of tasks and challenges in order to earn the pieces they will need to build their bike.  Most significantly, these bikes will then be donated to children.

Everything you need to know about the Bikes For Tykes team building activity

Each team must successfully complete a series of tasks and challenges in order to earn the pieces of their bike. These tasks can be undertaken indoors or outdoors, and will be designed to suit your objectives.

Once an activity has been completed, teams will be given a document card that provides them with a certain piece of the bike. Activities continue until the team have acquired all pieces of the bike and a tool kit. Teams may start to build their bike once they have all the pieces

Once the bike is fully built, each team must bring their bike to a qualified mechanic who will give the bike the “once over” and report on any defects to the judges. The first team to do complete these tasks and have their bike built and pass the test 100% will be crowned champions for the day.

What happens during the Bikes For Tykes team building activity

Once the bikes are complete, you will enjoy the feeling of each team finding out that their bike is to be donated to a local kids charity, and this team building exercise suddenly becomes 'real life', and takes on a whole new meaning. With medals presented, the children from the charities will all make their way to each team to receive the bikes from the delegates. What results is a frantic re-checking and adjusting of the bikes to suit the kids and to make them suitable. It is this dramatic change from a fun team building exercise into a very real, feel good scenario that gives the program its power. The change in the delegates now that the outcome is “real” is often quite staggering and very heartwarming.

This event can be run as part of a conference or as a standalone event.
